As soon as she declared her words, she would feel something wrong. She would suddenly understand that, Enniashe, while undoubtedly a major part of the endless slaughter of humans on the European Continent, was NOT a Criminal. She had mislabeled it. It was more like a bloody dagger or a smoking gun found at a crime scene. The real 'criminal' was missing from her judgement. Just as how a someone cannot label an inanimate object a 'criminal' her Noble Phantasm failed to properly find a target. However, the Forest also qualified as a living thing, and therefore, was part of the 'crime' she tried to judge, so rather than totally fizzle out, her Authority spread across the Forest, suppressing it to a certain degree so long as she was willing to maintain her Noble Phantasm.
Astraea instinctively understands, via her Authority, that there is someone manipulating the Forest. The Forest itself is more like a weapon.
"It would've been catastrophic if someone were to attack her during the release. Just having you here is a big enough help. Besides, if we prepare, we can make it burn even brighter."
Feeling a little ashamed of just dragging her around for no reason, he finds it better to formulate his request through their mind link.As Ibaraki charges into the Forest, she would notice that the blizzard - no, the very air itself starts to coil around her flames. It is like all the energy she expended is devoured nearly instantaneously. By the time the flames leave her blade to scorch the trees, barely a wisp remains. The blade itself does more damage, and as it lands on the trunk or branch, thick, rotting, and putrid blood spews from the wounds instead of sap, oozing like small geysers. Strangely enough, the Forest does not engage in self-defense, but parts slightly, only offering token resistance in the form of a few attacks from vines, branches, and roots.
Ibaraki would instinctively understand that the Forest is trying to lure her deeper within. But does a Berserker care about the danger?
She easily rips a tree from the ground. It seems to writhe in pain like a wounded, dying animal. Blood and gore spray everywhere, quickly creating a small pond at her feet and covering her in blood.
(edited)As the only living human approaches Ibaraki and catches up to her, the entire Forest stills.
As Salomon quietly issues an order, it's as if the dinner bell is rung. Roots. Vines. Trees. Trunks. Even the LEAVES all swarm upon Salomon's location, completely ignoring the Heroic Spirit in favor of a fresh meal!

"Let's go!"
He orders in their mental connection. The duo easily escapes the Forest as it nips at Ibaraki's heels.
The Forest suddenly stops after a certain point, as it 'impacts' the Bounded Field established by the Vatican. The endless sea of branches, vines, twigs, roots, and leaves recedes like an ocean tide and eventually regains their stagnant appearance.
Branches and bark are shed from the tree and start to burrow into the dirt like living worms, seeking the safety of the ground after Ibaraki starts to roll one of the trees like a stick to get rid of the branches.
Ibaraki manages to pound the ground and send up the escaping branches flying into the air along with countless debris.
(edited)After Ibaraki sends the rocks and branches flying like shrapnel from an explosion, one of them seeks out the lone human, aiming its trajectory just enough to pierce his neck if unopposed!
The tree trunk seems to thin and expand like a living octopus in an attempt to latch onto whatever surface it can grip so it can stay behind the Barrier, but Ibaraki's throw is too strong, and it hurtles over the Bounded Field and back into the Forest. It lands with a dull, pulpous thud in the distance.

The North of Italy is a warzone. An eternal winter of both snow and soot falls upon the ground. Convoys of tanks, APCs, super-heavy artillery guns, a trucks filled to the brim with grim soldiers. Corpses were strewn by the sides of the roads like they were wearing black mail armour. But they weren’t. The meat-flies were busy. They covered the flesh like seething black links of armour. They glittered furiously, moving like a single thing.
In the distance on the horizon like roaring dragons in the night, the railguns of NATO fired away.
Nearby there was a NATO camp surrounded with razor wire and sentries, sunken into a massive crater. Nicollete would see in the center there was a large tent with a golden cross.
Within the tent was a modest alter with a golden cross on top with a red cloth beneath it alongside several pews that could be fisted. Incense burned heavily in here. There was a foul updraft that swept the bottom of the tent up, letting in the smell of decay and the damp of the winter weather.
With his back to them at the altar was a man of the church in a dark black cassock but he had modified it by wearing a bulletproof vest over it and a kevlar helmet sat nearby on the pew.
"Is another of the dying in need of final rites?" he asked not looking back.
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuHe turned around at the voice to reveal at best he was an extremely young man with heavy bags underneath his eyes. "A Grand Crown of Atlas. I am aware of our relation with Atlas, though I barely tolerate it. And to see you in this rotting hole of my attempt at a shrine to our lord..."
He shook his head sadly and laughed. "It's almost comical."
"I'm afraid it may not be as cut and dry as me just leaving this tent. I have been assinged to oversee this battalion to both support and advise on spirtual matters and warfare. I would be found wanting if I were to just leave to assist you on what frankly sounds like a wild goose chase."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuHe gave Orochi a look that basically said 'are you stupid?'
"I must be mistaken sir. Apologies for not taking into the fact you are blind and deaf but in case you haven't noticed, if you look only a few kilometers north there is possibly the largest threat to human existance ever on our doorstep. I believe that would be considered a main problem."
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud (edited)"It's not pratical on the scale we need. It requires thousands upon thousands of Black Keys to clear a meaningful area. And even if we do choose to do so, what would be the consiquence of gaining only a few dozen square feet of ground when in other areas the forest has claimed twice that area? And it's not something we can just do. The forest fights not only with itself but with its minions. They've absorbed frankly millions of troops over the months and even a small fraction of that turned into the Dead is still a threat. In fact I believe there is a clash between corrupted tanks and NATO just to the east of here." he sighed before he looked at Nicollete.
"I have no time for games. There is no time at all in the North." The man continued. "But if it would get you out of my hair I will be willing to dispatch Knights and maybe a armoured carrier with a troop contingent to assist, so long as you agree to assist me by producing a large amount of medical supplies and what else Atlas can bring me. We're almost dry in the Field Hospitals here and I despise every time I must read a Funeral Rite to a man I could have saved. Is that good enough for you?"
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu (edited)A few minutes later the Priest returned as there was a rumbled outside. A Soviet BMP-3 with the Polish coat of arms painted on its side pulled up. Riding on top of it were three Knights in battered half-plate still bloody with their halberds on their side. Alongside them were three Polish troops in bulletproof vests and helmets with night vision googles attached. The troops had AK-47 rifles with black-keys ducktaped to the barrel to serve as makeshift bayonets.
"Your Honour Guard, ma'am. They're what I could spare at this time," he said as he wiped sweat off his brow, "You'll need to hurry in whatever you seek to do however. Local Command has schedualed a large artillery bombardment of their sector of the forest. I can't do anything to stop that. So whatever you seek to do you do it fast and pull out. You do not want to be caught in the middle of a bombardment."
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"Ha, ha, very funny," one of the tired soldiers said as he smoked a cigarette, "Last guy who did that with a Black Key got torn apart from the inside by the forest."
The engine started up again as the Priest walked over to the vehicle, "Is there anything else you may request before you leave?"
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"Snake ate Richard," one of them muttered.
And with a large revving on the engine the BMP-3 lurched forward down the corpse-ridden road towards the front. Nicollete and Orochi would see on their way multiple convoys of other vehciles moving to and from the front and more camps and artillery positions that were blasting away.
Eventually after about a half hour of riding they would meet the proper frontlines. It seemed that it had devolved back into trench warfare here as a network of concrete fortifications and trenches had been drawn in a massive frontline that streched East and West as far as the eye could see. In the distance was the forest itself, swaying with his malicous branches, and seprating the defence itself was a massive no-man's-land two kilometer wide strewn with shell craters and destroyed vehciles. More corpses had been left out to rot but many looked like they had been engulfed and turned into trees themselves as an infestation of rotting black wood grew over them.
Teams of troops prowled this no-man's-land, using modified flamethrowers to spew corrosive acid in an attempt disolve the fallen and deny the Forest any more Dead.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud"We move any further and there's a risk we'll come under fire from the treeline. They have snipers you know. The Forest." the troops said to Nicolette.
We could use the cannon to blast one or two positions apart. And we could put down supressive fire to keep their heads ducking. They may be dead but a good few of 'em got reflexes from when they were still people," he nodded, "Yeah could blast 'em all out the moment they fire but ain't nobody want to be in a position where a sniper fires at you."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu5
◉〇"Um what the fuck?" each and every single one of them exclaimed as they looked in sheer shock at what she was doing. Even the noble Knights sullied their mouths.
At once several shots would come from the forest at this figure running in the open, surely hitting her.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"Oh bloody hell, what did the Father give us now!?" the tank commander cried as more and more shots came in. "Enemy at 210 degrees. Elevation ten. Fire!"
And with that the cannon and heavy machine guns roared and roared again. Several of the troops and even Knights had picked up battle rifles and began to crack off shots and Nicolette drew off the fire. A minute or two later it would fall silent and the snipers would cease their fire.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuAs she approached there would be one or two crack-shots but the response from the BMP-3 and its crew quickly either destroyed them or forced them back deeper into the forest.
However the moment she even came close to the forest lightning tendrils erupted from the forest and pierced the core of her illusion, abosorbing mana and any trace of magical energy like a straw. It would quickly feed back to Nicollete.
Charisma Save
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuThe same result would occur with the bird flying this low instead of tendrils it would be the sheer aura of the forest that would quickly kill the bird and slowly spread up Alochies circuits unless she cut it off.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"We still got more then enough in our rack. Expanded quite a few but we can risk a prolonged engagement, ma'am."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"To the treeline?" one of the Knight said as he spied it with a pair of binoculars. "Four hundred feet from our current position."
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud"Well you best get going. We'll loose them in this forest quick enough."
As he did Orochi would see something red shining, like a strong concentrated light, from the treelines and red dots would appear on his chest. He'd almost made if halfway when several dustclouds erupted from within the forest. Corckscrewing in the air and leaving behind white trails of smoke, three missiles streaked directly at Orochi.
Make 3 dex saves
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud (edited)The missiles would explode all around Orochi but his nature as a servant and the fact that he had nimbly dodged the worst of the blast proved more then enough. And as a result the position of the missile launchers was now clear to him. The closest one was now less then seventy feet away and already he could see a figure begining to flee with a rocket launcher on his shoulder.
The Tank had opened fire and blasted another position but it wasn't clear if it had killed anything.
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuSuddenly Orochi as he landed would spot the glint of glass between the trees. A snipers scope!

It flials widly in the air with its remaining three limbs.
"Toss em a bit higher!" a voice of the tank commander suddenly came through with a loudspeaker.
It suddenly exploded mid air as a tank round hit it, expelling it remains over hundreds of meters. "Ha! Good target practice boys! Keep going like that and we'll make the records!"
And now the field was silent save for the dead and the etneral creaking of the forest.
There was nobody left standing save for corpses that had been killed for a second time by the tank earlier or by Orochi's own hand.
The tank crew and soldiers were busy celebrating over the mid-air kill while the Knights continued to scan the treeline. "Seems we either killed every single one or drove them deep into the forest. No activty."
Driving forward the tank would enter the forests treeline. The men were pale and nervous as they began to dismount, guns pointed in every direction and the Knights with their halberds would cut off several branches nearby.
Still seemingly no reaction from the forest right now but the quiet yet defeaning sound of wind howling through the trees and the creaking of its branches.
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"Whatever you want to do, I suggest you do it quick," the commander stuttered as he stared at the branches. "I don't know why the forest isn't reacting but I'm sure it sure as hell will soon."
Groaning loudly with the very first tug the tree would shift several meters upwards, roots still caught tight onto the ground. The soldiers looked on amazed. They'd tried this before a few months back. Dozens of super-heavy tracked vehicles tugging away and it hadn't even budged.
And like that, the forest would respond with a rage. Suddenly disemblowing branches erupted from the treeline in a natural response against every single living thing in the forest area.

〇Suddenly one of the NATO soldiers would drop dead as his head was pierced by the branches and another Knight would be gravely wounded by a glancing blow, his plate armour severly dented. Branches would slam off and crack the hull of the tank but it would hold for the moment.
Orochi would dodge the first wave though Nicollete would still be hit.
Suddenly the forest would stop creaking. And in the darkness in the depths they could hear the sounds of footsteps quickly crunching through the folliage.
One more good tug and the tree would come loose. But maybe not before whatever those were reached the position.
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuThere was a woosh through the treeline, something moved amongst the branches at a near blur speed before landing on the ground in front of Nicollete and Orochi. It was lean in shape as it slowly rose up. A figure in armour with the sigil 'GIGN' strapped across the front plate. It had a gas mask with blood red eyes that stared down the two of them.
"I'll keep this simple," the voice was electronically scrambled behind a wheezing respirator to the point it was impossible to tell gender in any manner, "What might you think you're doing?"
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud"Amusing. I'll give you one more chance." it said.
"Never asked if you were scared. Just what you were doing," it rasped. "And if they were flanking around the sides. The entire group of you would be dead by now. Well maybe save the 'God' amongst you."
"You can go ahead and crush us. We experianced one death already. What's another one? You may crush a valley of mountains but you cannot crush an entire continent. You can go ahead of fight but be aware we're the only thing holding the worst of the Forest back from now. Go ahead and kill and kill, eventually you'll wear out."
"On good days I'd like to dare you to try. But this isn't a good day. Answer me both of you now, what do you intend to do with this tree?"
"Then, I'll drive you out of the forest and into no-man's-land!" there was something strange in his voice the moment he heard Nicolette. Almost like bad overacting as he jerked his armblade not at Nicolette, but at the no-man's-land after the forest treeline, "And you won't keep that tree for sure."
I do hope you aren’t going to listen to this festering worm food, I’d advise you to get everyone inside the metal kart or back up
A large exhale from the respirator. Almost like a sigh. "Should have taken better acting classes I guess. Looks like we'll have to do it the other way then. Unfortunately you've condemned the lives of soldiers."
The Arm Blade extended outwards as he made a gesture with his right hand.
"Attaque!"

Nicollete would hit one of them as they dashed to cover. It hit the plate but it was bad enough to cause it to stumble and the plate to break. And a rib or two as well.

Suddenly as Nicollete cast this spell, the forest would absorb the the energy of the cold blast before it reached the soldier.
The engine of the tank would stop catching fire and the cracks and dents in the armour would heal.
"Bloody 'ell get her as to the mechanic depot and I won't have to work a day in my life again!" the driver of the tank shouted with glee as he wrenched it around.

But he was quickly silenced by Orochi.

Total Damage: 67Almost at once the forest would erupt around the corpse next to Orochi as it delved onto the body of the Dead Special Forces soldier.
Dex saveThe tendrils would begin to drag at the corpse of the two dead soldiers and pull them into the earth.
"Are they are dead?" one of the solders muttered. "What now?"
(edited)"I know these bastards. Don't die when they are killed," the Tank Commander said, "Church gave us these Black Keys for a reason. Jerry go finish him off."
(edited)"How on earth can you be sure? I've seen those bastards blown apart by tank cannons and missiles yet they still come back." he sighed, "But if you want to take the fall if it blows over that's on you. Whatever gets us out the fastest."
He'd motion for the troops to unload a few empty ammo cases and the Knights would move with their halberds to chop away at any branches before the next wave of attacks came.
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuThe head was still intact with a single human eye that peaked through the mass that followed Nicollete. It kept looking at its gas mask on the forest floor that had been ripped out and then at Nicollete, then back at the mask, then at her.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu (edited)The man would stab the mask. No effect. But he noticed something He'd hold it up to Nicollete and mutter, "This is a NO2 Gas Mask. Rated for biohazard. Odd thing is we were only issued this a week ago and we haven't been on any expeditions into the forest recently."
The last thing the eye would do would roll.
He went pale, "When we evacuated to Italy... not all our Cold War stockpiles were disarmed or locked up... or maybe they were locked up but the Forest broke in. We had a lot of weapons stored up for use if the war ever went hot. Some of them we publically destroyed because they were too horrendous to use on human beings. But you know how the egg-heads in goverments work. There's a chance there's a nerve agent or gas they got cooked up that they never did destroy."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu (edited)"Don't tell me that sooner," and with that the soldier would mount the tank and so would the Knights as it reversed out the treeline, "he can carry that thing all the way over?"
@Sophie, Mary, Nito, Gorgon, Boud @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu (edited)The tank would arrive back at the camp and soldiers would suddenly race out of their tents with rifles and rocket launchers at the gang arriving with a tank with boxes lopped on top, a girl in a pink dress with thigh highs in the middle of a wastleland, and a snake man carrying a massive tree of the dreaded enemy. Most of their rifles were pointed at the tree.
"Woah! The hell you think you doing with that?!" a man with a sergeants colours shouted as he ran out of his tents wearing nothing but his hat with a badge and his underclothes.
"Well that's all nice and good, young lady," he was a man with a dark skin and actually a cigar clamped between his teeth, "But how you sure that won't thing ain't still alive?"
"Gonna need some cage for that." he muttered. "Get the priest he'd want to see this."
A moment later the Priest from before would walk out. There was blood staining his cassock that wasn't his. His eyes went wide, "I thought you were exaggarting when you spoke a tree or at least a small sapling... not this entire thing!"
He drew his black keys from his sleeves, "We have to sercure that at once. Even the slightest fruit to fall from its branches could cause a new forest to erupt. We suspect that's what happened to our research facilities in Milan."
Suddenly his hand snapped up in a barrage of Black Keys that surrounded Orochi.
"I'll need to contact Rome for a large scale containment unit to deal with... this. In the meantime just keep it there and make sure it doesn't touch the ground. Anything that falls from it, burn it at once." he said, massaging his tired brow. "You two pick anything else up I should know before you cause another outbreak?"
(edited)His eyes went wide, "You what?!"
Again Black Keys appeared in his hand.
"Where is it."
(edited)"We haven't exaclty been sealing them more then just killing them all straight on the spot. Given our circumstance I hope you can understand why we don't tend to waste time with that." he said. "What's so special about this one? We've dealt and killed most of the ones the Forest has created. Seen what we can see these past months."
(edited)"I'll need to report this as well," the NATO sergeant said. "Command might like what your research will turn up."
The Priest sighs. "Maybe there's something there. I'm taking on more then I bargain having to handle containment, those medical supplies better be heading up here now."
He tapped his foot and scoffed, "Much use this stone will be to heal one out of thousands of wounded and dying I must tend to."
"Will you be studying the subjects here on site or somewhere else? Be aware that all research will be under the observation of the church and findings will be given to them as well. We're both in the same war and it seems that the Church has to carry to burden of actually making sure you don't create a second forest."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"Keep it sealed here. The ground is frozen solid so we don't need to worry for its fruit and if we keep the Black Keys up the tree itself won't burrow in the earth. I sanctified the ground around here a few days actually. And as for the boxes keep the parts constanly being destroyed until I can arrange a coffin brought up from Venice."
The Sergeant came out his tent, "And we have a group of our commanders and officers coming up to examine the tree. They want to know as well."
Let's seee~ Is this thing working~?
It worked before, though I wouldn't know if you're all that capable of understanding basic things such as the communication devices or basic human rights Lancer. ★
Nope. If you want me to teleport in though I can. Just don't do anything stupid now, a lot of things have happened since we last seen eachother, war criminal. ★
I mean anything, Lancer. You're on thin ice. This isn't going to be a discussion... But fine, I'll be rayshifting riiiiiight in~
Welp. I did my best.

To be completely honest, I kind of forgot to.
Is it possible for servant's to get summoned broken or something? Is she missing a few loose screws?
Considering the experimental nature of the FATE system it's not out of the question.
Ugh. Let's just keep an eye out on that one. Geez. Here I thought intimidating her would work wonders but apparently she's either downright insane or just stuck up enough to not care about the consequences.
Geez. I feel like I've stepped into a bear trap if this is the mess you deal with every day. Oh well.
Welcome to my world. You asked for it.
The night darkens.
Hope is on a knife age. Hope for a better day for humanity.
Sounds of battle and screams shake the forest canopy for hundreds of miles away as the battle to decide the fate of everything rages in the distance.
But tonight, it is not the only battle.
From the east and what used to be the plains of Russia, the forest calls upon every single creature within its arsenal. Through the trees flowing like an unending river hundreds of millions of undead charge towards the core, made of massive entities of combined rotting flesh and root to the smallest man corrupted by their lust for blood. All of them converge on a single hill in their way.
But it is more then a hill in their way. Every faction stands on this hill, brought by circumstance and urgency.
A woman in red hair brought here so far from home in the chaos wiped the blood off her face, tightened her gloves, and held up her fists for a final stand.
Soldiers from the survivors of NATO, having burned their way through the forest on Chaldea's tail in hopes of ending this once and for all, pick up their rifles and run to the trenches despite their exhuastion.
Men in cassocks that are no longer black but red with blood hold up their black keys and ashlocks as they once more cut away the influence of the forest, freeing a large area of any of its effects.
And yet despite their combined might they have no chance against such reckless hate.
But...
There is Chaldea, the only hope they have.
Even as a horde a hundred million strong rushing forward like a tidal wave begins to barrel up the hill. They do not break. They do not flee.
Because they have faith in all of you.
Prove them right.
The undead charged up the hill even as they were blown apart by the firepower of every single faction! Their loud moans filled the air as melee was inevitable.
The words of Aphrodite inspired at the last moment, the soldiers and executors to release a sinlge cry of truimph and victory and hope.
And before the lines clashed, rose up out of their trenches with bayonet and ashlock to meet the horde.
"AFFIX BAYONETS!!!!" the cry came.
In their tens of thousands again the sheer barrage of the Chaldeans the dead were being torn apart like there were but paper. Already in the first moments of the battle the hill had already grown in height as corpses mounted upon corpses.
But still there were so many.
MORE! MORE! MORE!
Millions dead.
One last charge to break the lines of the exhuasted forces.
Would they hold?
Almost on que as Veronica arrived, the horde began to collaspe in droves, crumbling to ash as they finally achieved peace.
The few that were left either continued their mad attack, or began to retreat.
An steel wave of NATO tanks began to charge them down as Executors and screaming surviving troops followed close behind to cut down all left.
Troops began to run up to Veronica cheering and hooting, even some picking her up as they celebrated to surf the crowd.
Anthems of the various nations began to be sung with discordant but joyful tunes.
The soldiers did let go of Veronica.
"Soldiers, join me in a salute for Chaldea," Kotz shouted over the chaos of celebration, "They've done their best despite the hardships before, fell many times, but they all were there when we needed the most."
"So allow us to honour them all one last time!"
With that, a thousand tired soldiers with smiles on their faces raised their hands in salute of everyone present.
